I would have wanted to take part of the tango competition (Tangomarkkinat) in Finland.
Cannot anymore, should have done it 20 years ago.

My Favourite Things
Times are not treating me very well. It is such a struggle with the money. Luckily nobody can't take away my enjoyment for singing.
Remember (first time heard this on a radio while dining. Sounded like Josh Groban. Had to write down some of the lyrics to a napkin while listening, so I could later on search for the song - and it was - Josh Groban - and I just had to sing it!)

Thursday 05-01-2012 An evening alone. I could not sleep, so I decided to sing a song:
For me this song was originally inspired by my colleague, a great talent, Dutch singer Bart Brantjes, who was singing the song with his guitar at the backstage of our gig somewhere in Belgium.
After googling where the song came from, I found out that it was composed by an Indonesian singer-songwriter Daniel Sahuleka, who as well has lived in Holland. Since then I wanted to sing his song.

All my students cancelled for today. Some sick, some work, etc. Didn't have many of them today anyhow.
So I spent the day with my own stuff. - Like ugly administration. Blaah.
But then I had a feeling to sing.

Not satisfied at all, but was too tired to sing it again....perhaps tomorrow. Haha.

I am missing Finland. Wanted to record a Finnish tango, but first Scarborough Fair came into my mind, from a lesson I held today.
We used to sing this song together with my sister.

I was missing singing myself so much! Was looking forward to have a day off. My summer seems emptier with students, so will - unfortunately - have more free time. Today had no students.

Always loved this one, too. Then I hear Jari Sillanpää recorded it. Has been on my playlist ever since - even as my ringtone and my wake up call. Have said a few times, when I die, I'd like Jari to sing this at my funeral.
Added 22.6.2011: Later on the evening this song got a twist. I had just finished mixing the songs when I hear the news my ex bf had passed away on the early hours of the same day. I couldn't believe what kind of a connection was there with all the songs I recorded this day. I was speechless.

Papa took me to see West Side Story in a real movie theater, when I was a little little. Actually father introduced me to many musicals through records as well.
