The 12-piece Afro Cuban  TIMBA  orchestra La Banda IrÉ consists of young musicians from Latin-America and Europe which creates together a fresh and explosive sound.  La Banda IrÉ was formed out of the best Latin musicians of the Netherlands.
The musicians of La Banda IrÉ  met each other in the multicultural environment of Holland with an intention to play today`s Cuban popular music called TIMBA.

TIMBA is what comes out when you mix traditional Cuban music like Son, Son Montuno or even more New York -orientated salsa, salsa romantica  with elements from pop, funk, rap and jazz. This exciting new style was made famous by the Cuban group called N.G. La Banda  and  conquered quickly the world among Latin music lovers.
Bands like  Klimax, la Charanga Habanera, Issac Delgado, Paulito y su Eliteel Medico de la Salsa   and  Manolito y su Trabuco  are following this tradition.

IRÉ
means  "positive energy"  or to be "pure" and "good" in a spiritual sense.
The word derives from the Nigerian language, yoruba, which is still used in Cuba.

La Banda IrÉ`s  repertoire consists of original compositions of the leader Marc Bischoff, and his arrangements from popular Afro-Cuban songs.

La Banda IrÉ  has been working since 1997 successfully in clubs and festivals in Holland, Germany and Finland. It is the only Salsa-band from Holland playing Timba  with original compositions and arrangements.
