TIMBA
is what comes out when you mix traditional Cuban music like Son, Son Montuno
or even more New York -orientated salsa, salsa romantica with elements
from pop, funk, rap and jazz. This exciting new style was made famous
by the Cuban group called N.G. La Banda
and conquered quickly the world among Latin music lovers. |
IRÉ means "positive energy" or to be "pure" and "good" in a spiritual sense. The word derives from the Nigerian language, yoruba, which is still used in Cuba. La Banda IrÉ`s repertoire consists of original compositions of the leader Marc Bischoff, and his arrangements from popular Afro-Cuban songs. La Banda IrÉ has been working since 1997 successfully in clubs and festivals in Holland, Germany and Finland. It is the only Salsa-band from Holland playing Timba with original compositions and arrangements. |
